In July 2020, the Novo Rio Pinheiros program, by the State Government of São Paulo, coordinated by the Department of Infrastructure and Environment, conducted an intervention for the engagement of the community in the collection of recyclable materials. Over 20 kg of recyclable materials were sent to recycling plants.
After a dye test, it was observed that sewage was being deposited in SABESP’s sewage networks and that the population was maintaining the river branch.
