Sabesp will now use IoT (Internet of Things) technology to measure the water consumption of its customers. After successfully testing this system last year, the Company has started the deployment of 100 thousand smart hydrometers for its largest customers in the metropolitan area of São Paulo. They will now have their water consumption measured remotely on a daily basis.
IoT technology enables day-to-day devices (such as fridges, locks, security cameras and TVs) to be connected through the internet. The connection between these devices is done through sensors and computer programs.
